Wipro Limited has unveiled plans to expand its operations in Hyderabad with the establishment of a new IT center in Gopanapalli, located in the city’s financial district. This development is expected to generate employment for approximately 5,000 individuals, including both direct and indirect opportunities.
The announcement was made during the World Economic Forum in Davos, where Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT Minister Sridhar Babu held discussions with Wipro Executive Chairman Rishad Premji. The initiative underscores Wipro's pivotal role in strengthening Hyderabad’s position as a hub for IT and innovation.
According to officials, the new IT center is projected to be operational within two to three years. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed the announcement, highlighting his administration’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. He assured Wipro of the government’s full support in facilitating the company’s growth and urged its participation in state-led skill development initiatives, such as the Young India Skills University.
Rishad Premji expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the Telangana government to drive innovation and expand opportunities in the region. He noted that Wipro’s investment aligns with its broader vision of contributing to the growth of India’s technology sector.
